Nadia started out at a small foundry doing the work nobody puts in a portfolio: spacing, kerning pairs, and telling clients that their logo did not need a custom typeface. Four years of drawing the same letter two hundred times teaches you what a curve is doing, and that turned out to be the most useful thing she knows.

After the foundry came a decade in product. Design lead on a reading app where typography wasn't a layer of polish but the entire product surface — every decision was a typographic decision, made in public, at scale, with analytics attached. That's where the material in this course comes from: not from theory, but from finding out which typographic rules survive contact with real users and which ones quietly don't matter.

Since 2019 she's run this as an in-house workshop for design and engineering teams — the kind where you arrive with your own product and leave having actually fixed it. Measure is that workshop rebuilt for people who'd rather learn on their own schedule and still get their work looked at properly.

How she teaches

No lectures about Gutenberg. Every lesson ends with something you change in a file. Every crit is about your work, not a hypothetical. The vocabulary comes first because it's what makes the rest of it transferable — once you can name what's wrong, you can fix it anywhere, in any tool, for the rest of your career.

On critique

Crits are structured and impersonal on purpose. Four questions, in order, every time: What is this text for? Who reads it and in what state? What is the measure? What breaks first when the content doubles? Answer those honestly and most typographic problems solve themselves.
